Dois álbuns de uma das muitas editoras ligadas à Finders Keepers, a Bird, da responsabilidade de Jane Weaver, companheira de Andy Votel (o cabecilha da Finders). Ao contrário do que acontece na empresa mãe, “Minor White” e “The Fallen By Watch Bird” são dois discos do presente, contudo ambos muito concentrados na tradição e história da folk e, por aí, passariam bem com quatro décadas em cima.
“Minor White” (editado em 2009) de Emma Tricca é um disco folk mais convencional, que recorda toda a cena de Greenwich Village com inspiração no bucólico britânico. A guitarra de Emma é de uma lucidez e delicadeza fantástica, entregando canções com uma classe a que já não estamos habituados. “Monday Morning Yawning” é das canções mais incríveis de folk que ouvimos nos últimos anos, onde passado e presente se conjugam na perfeição (pensem em Joan Baez cantada por Joanna Newsom).
Já “The Fallen By Watch Bird” é uma obra conceptual com uma abordagem menos convencional. Weaver juntou uma super equipa de estrelas do passado para formar uma espécie de super-grupo (que surge referenciado como Septieme Soeur), onde colabora gente como Susan Christie e Wendy Flower. Visita lugares mais escuros, florestas negras, formalmente próximo da exotica, do jazz ou do spoken word. Disco magnífico, redentor, um dos segredos mais bem guardados deste ano.
